Hangar is a name you might come across in many cities around the world. But every space that carries this name has its own identity, its own vision, and its own purpose. Hangar Culture Space came to life in 2022, inside the stone walls of Nicosia’s old city. This early 20th-century warehouse deserved more than being just storage. With Double O Brewing, it became a place to brew not only beer, but also culture.
Craft beer culture is known worldwide for shaping communities, sparking gatherings, and offering more than just a drink. Hangar takes that spirit one step further. Imagine a brewery that doesn’t just make beer, but also builds a home for dialogue, creativity, and connection. Behind this concept is a collaboration between a brewer and a curator—two people who felt the city needed another space for conversations, cultural exchange, shared meals, and art.
Nicosia, with its layered history and mix of cultures, is the right place for such an idea. It’s a city where Turkish-speaking and Greek-speaking locals, together with international residents and students, cross paths every day. With so many young people and such a diverse community, the demand for meaningful gatherings and cultural spaces is impossible to ignore. This is why we believe Hangar’s contribution to arts and culture is more than relevant—it’s necessary.
Hangar Culture Space is here to host exhibitions, performances, communal feasts, and conversations. It’s a place for friendships and collaborations to grow, for locals and visitors to connect, and for the city to keep moving forward as a place where people can flourish together.
In the heart of Cyprus, this Hangar stands as both a brewery and a culture hub—a reminder that when people gather around creativity, good things happen.
